M\u00e4rz 2012 <\/strong>\/ Dienstag \/ 20:30 h BESETZUNG: „Long Throw“ <\/strong>ist eine Auftragskomposition f\u00fcr Merce Cunninghams Tanzproduktion \u201eeyeSpace\u201c Version 2 von 2007.\u00a0 Die Musik wurde speziell f\u00fcr die Musiker und den Ensemble-Mitgliedern der Cunningham Dance Company – Christian Wolff, Takehisa Kosugi und John King entwickelt und f\u00fcr David Behrman <\/strong>has been active as a composer and artist since the 1960s. Over the years he has made sound and multimedia installations for gallery spaces as well as compositions for performance in concerts. My Dear Siegfried, Leapday Night, On the Other Ocean, Interspecies Smalltalk and Long Throw are among Behrman’s works for soloists and small ensembles. Okkyung Lee <\/strong>has been developing her voice in contemporary cello performance, improvisation and composition. Using her solid classical training as a springboard, she incorporates jazz, Korean traditional and pop music and noise with extended techniques to create her unique blend of music. She has performed and recorded with numerous artists such as Laurie Anderson, Lotte Anker, Derek Bailey, John Butcher, Fred Frith, Min Xiao-fen, Thurston Moore, Ikue Mori, Lawrence D. „Butch“ Morris, Jim O’rourke, Evan Parker, Marina Rosenfeld, Keith Rowe, Wadada Leo Smith, and John Zorn.<\/p>\n William Formanis <\/strong>one of the leading exponents of contemporary trumpet literature in Europe. He has collaborated closely with leading composers and has inspired a number of young musicians to discover new compositional possibilities for the trumpet. From 1990 until 2001 Forman was the trumpeter of the Ensemble Modern in Frankfurt\/Main. He has performed throughout the world, as a soloist and chamber musician, with the traditional trumpet repertoire as well as with new pieces which have often been written for him.<\/p>\n

\n„Useful Information“<\/strong> entstand 2004 in New York und wurde mit Peter Zummo, Joan La Barbara und Hans Tammen bei Harvestworks aufgenommen. Es basiert auf einem Text, der bei Pacifica Radio ausgestrahlt wurde, als 2004 w\u00e4hrend eines Republikaner-Kongresses in New York City viele Menschen bei Protest-Demonstrationen verhaftet wurden. Im Beitrag ging es um einen Anwalt, der Demonstranten Tipps bei drohender Verhaftung gab.

\n„A Soldier’s Declaration“<\/strong> ist Teil eines einst\u00fcndigen Werks f\u00fcr 6 Performer mit dem Titel „My Dear Siegfried“. Es bezieht sich sowohl auf Briefe und Texte des britischen Autors Siegfried Sassoon, der f\u00fcr seine Anti-Kriegs-Dichtung bekannt wurde, die er ( in den Sch\u00fctzengr\u00e4ben) des Ersten Weltkriegs verfasste, als auch auf Texte von S. N. Behrman, amerikanischer Dramatiker, Autor – und Vater von David Behrman!
\nIn „A Soldier’s Declaration“ erkl\u00e4rt S. Sassoon 1917, dass er als Offizier der Britischen Armee den Befehlen nicht l\u00e4nger folgen werde.

\n„Interspecies Smalltalk\u201c<\/strong> wurde 1984 fu\u0308r die Merce Cunningham Dance
\nCompany als interaktives Stu\u0308ck produziert und erschien 1987 auf der LP
\n\u201eLeapday Night\u201c.<\/p>\n
\nf\u00fcr pr\u00e4pariertes Klavier komponiert. Dies ist \u00e4hnlich pr\u00e4pariert wie in John Cages St\u00fcck \u201eMusic for Marcel Duchamp\u201c von 1947. Der Pianopart ist mit einer interaktiven Software kombiniert, die die anderen beiden Performer mit Sounds des Laptops verkn\u00fcpft.<\/p>\n
